“Flat Out at the Falls”, a regional water polo event unique to the far north in the early 2000s, will be reborn with the Cairns Water Polo club committed to growing the game in the Tablelands.
After a 15 year absence, water polo will be returning to the iconic freshwater location of Malanda Falls, in the heart of the scenic Atherton Tablelands.

Format:
$20 per player
8min halves with a 2min break in between.

There are 3 Divisions in the main competition:
Clash of the Titans (Open Men and Open Women)
Mixed Opens
Mixed Juniors
The Clash of the Titans is the champion level competition. Mackay, Townsville and Cairns will be fighting it out for the title of best club in the north.
Mixed Juniors and Opens is a social orientated competition designed to allow beginners and intermediate players an opportunity to grow and develop against players of similar ability.
The mixed teams will be put together by the committee in consultation with the players and the other clubs to ensure all participants regardless of ability have a positive experience.
The focus will be on having fun and enjoying the natural beauty of the location.
Games will run from 9am through to 4pm.
A Come and Try period will be run from 12pm to 1pm for those that want to give our great sport a go for the first time!
If you are registering for the Come and Try period being run from 12pm to 1pm - Please follow through with the registration but note you do not need to continue with payment of the invoice you will receive upon registering.
Parking and access to Malanda Falls (check out the event map attached):
Day trip participants (anyone not staying in the caravan park): Outer area of the football field
Public parking adjacent Malanda Falls and in front/near the visitor center is off limits to participants.
The Function:
The Malanda Hotel has been booked for an event dinner and will provide a limited menu
Accommodation:
There is plenty of accommodation available, from the caravan park right next to the falls to Bed and Breakfasts in and around the area.
